ACHIEVE YOUR HEALTH GOALS WITH MICROSOFT BAND

We have previously looked at different tech that can help you with your fitness goals. In this article, we take a deeper look at the Microsoft Band.

What is the Microsoft band?

The Microsoft Band tracks your heart rate, exercise, calorie burn and sleep quality, and keeps you connected with email, text, and calendar alerts. We really like the fact it has eleven advanced sensors which track your exercise, sleep quality and daily activity, and Microsoft Health gives you actionable insights based on your data. You can view data about step counts, workouts, and even sleep quality in the mobile app and web dashboard.

Hey Matthew, You can put your phone away and control your music from your band. See the song title, skip forward or back and adjust the volume from music apps you use on your phone—they connect to your band through Bluetooth. You can also stay connected at a glance with the notifications that matter most to you right on your wrist. Easily check email previews, calendar alerts, calls or text messages, and view social updates. - Cheers, Joe

Hey Roger, Microsoft Band is designed to be awesome on multiple platforms, but it is not essential to have a smartphone. You will need to sync your Microsoft Band to Microsoft Health for analysis, product updates and personalisation however you can do this through downloading the Microsoft Band Sync app to your Windows PC or Mac if you don’t have a smartphone. PC - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=44579 Mac - https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/microsoft-band-sync/id926162815?mt=12 Microsoft Health helps you live healthier by giving you actionable insights into how your physical activity benefits your overall health. View your data and insights about your step counts, workouts and even sleep quality on a web dashboard. Easy-to-understand graphs chart data that are important to help you understand your current, and changing, fitness levels. Cheers, Joe

I have never owned anything like this but it does look good. I would use one mainly for fitness. Can you play music through it?
