Boost your Workout this spring

Boost your Workout this spring

Today is the official start of spring - 20th March - and so it’s the perfect time to boost your workout, try something new and spring into the new season.

There are tons of ways you can take your workout in a new direction or get a new level of motivation and here we’ve picked some top ideas which could be just what you need for a new season of exercise.

Switch up Scenes

A change of scenery can make all the difference. Working out in the same environment can get boring and therefore, try changing it a little bit. One day a week have an outdoor workout or if you usually workout at home it’s time to consider trying the local gym. Bored of your local gym? Try one near to work instead.

Take it to the Next Level

Waking up on a winter morning is never fun especially if you’re up extra early to fit in a gym session before work. Spring is a different story, the sun is up before you and you can escape the comfortable confines of you home and bounce into your new routine. The dark mornings and cold weather are no longer an excuse so spring is the perfect time to take your routine to a new level. Try a new, more challenging routine and the results you see will motivate you to push it even harder.

Clean Eating Picnicking

Fresh fruit and veg look so much more appealing when spread out across a picnic blanket. A clean-eating picnic as an afterthought to your outdoor workouts will make them even more enjoyable.

Wondrous Walks

If you want to supplement your extra gym sessions then why not plan a walking break? A weekend in the Brecon Beacons or Lake District can be wonderful for the whole family and once you don your hiking boots you’ll be ready for anything. Walking is great exercise and the fresh spring air will do you good too.

Sign up for a Race

Spring is when race season begins. You’ve probably had sponsorship forms in your face already so why not join them? A race in the summer is the perfect motivation to get you through your spring workout season especially if you’re not feeling challenged.

Grab a friend and train together at the gym, or better yet, get a group of you to take part in the race. You’ll keep each other motivated and you’ll have fun too.

Spring is the perfect time to get fit, so head down to the gym and get yourself toned in time for summer!

looking at what needs doing in the garden, I think there is plenty of workout potential there. Now just need some exercises to strengthen back and knees...any suggestions?

Winter hibernation is officially over! There's nothing like the spring equinox and the clocks changing to make me want to get moving. Thanks for the kickstart and the ideas!

Exercising outdoors always motivates me and pushes me to work harder in the gym too.

These sunny days we've recently had really increase my motivation and enjoyment of my workouts, indoor and out. Spring makes you want to be healthy and active - just need the sun to hang around more!

at last - out of a long dark dull winter. I feel more motivated already!
