The Women only sessions are designed so that women can exercise and relax in a calming environment. Every Wednesday, 8.00pm - 10.00pm.
The Arches Leisure Centre is housed in a historic building that was constructed in 1927. The centre is located in the heart of Greenwich near to the Thames, Greenwich Park and the Royal Naval College.
The gym now has an amazing 120 exercise stations, housed in a fresh and clean environment with a modern feel. The gym is split into two levels, divided by arches to echo the main theme of the centre. With some of the latest Technogym equipment including ranks of steppers and treadmills, there are plenty of ways to mix up your cardio workout. For resistance work, there is a Power Plate as well as cable machines and a choice of free weights. A rack of Swiss balls and mat space complete the setup for a full workout.
The centre also houses two swimming pools, still showing most of the original features from the days when the building was the Greenwich Public Baths. The pools cater for both lane swimmers and leisure swimmers. Two fitness studios (known as the Tone Zone) offer a busy schedule of group exercise classes. A soft play area and even toddler football sessions cater for the younger visitors. (Note that extra charges apply for all these facilities)
With no contract memberships available as well as day passes, Arches Leisure Centre offers something for everyone.
