gym DETAILS

Battersea Sports Centre is an affordable gym in London near the Thames, not far from York Gardens. The recently refurbished air-conditioned gymnasium boasts a great range of state-of-the-art equipment. The suite contains cardio and resistance machines, plus a dedicated strength and conditioning area with plenty of free weights and weight machines. Staff are always available to give you training advice.

By offering a wide range of passes and no contract gym memberships the sports centre hopes to encourage all local residents and visitors to use the gym. Whether you’re a regular user or just visiting the area you can expect a warm welcome.

Additional facilities include a great range of sociable group exercise classes to help you to lose weight or to get fit. Sessions are suitable for all fitness levels and include Zumba, Pilates, Boot Camp and Yoga. Many classes can be booked right now through payasUgym. Kids classes are also available if younger family members also want to get fit!

Also available is a full-sized indoor sports hall suitable for volleyball, basketball, netball, badminton and football, plus several outdoor hard courts. A new multi-use games area includes a brilliant 3G Astroturf and 5-a-side football pitch. There is also a recently refurbished studio/dojo. These incur an additional charge so please check with reception for further details.

Some great gym reviews from customers point to the friendly staff and well-equipped gym as great aspects of the sports centre. Also noted were the excellent range of weights. The gym doesn’t get too busy, especially at off-peak times.

The staff were fantastic - very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The gym is small and there is no dedicated area for stretching. There was no hot water in the shower. The facilities are OK - clean but a bit dated.

You can stretch into the room for judo classes if there is non.
Don't forget to remove your shoes as soon as you walk in and before stepping on to the matted area.

Many people state there is not much space, but the real thing is that there is plenty of it,despite not having a designated area for deadlifts, you can still manage into the space,by keeping other people in mind of course, which is not much of a deal.
