gym DETAILS

Established in 1992, E4 Health and Fitness prides itself on a friendly approach and a warm welcome for all. This no-frills gym is family run and their stated mission is to be non-intimidating. Ongoing maintenance and improvements keep the club fresh. With its wide range of available activities it is no surprise that many members have been there since its opening.

Offering a range of passes and no contract memberships, the gym has exercise stations for both resistance and cardio training. A full range of free weights (including a very large selection of dumb-bells) ensures a good workout for those looking to improve strength. There are also resistance machines for those squats and stretches. In the cardio room, there are treadmills, exercise bikes and cross-trainers for a complete workout.

The centre also offers many other activities and facilities, including a specialist treatment centre for sports injuries and pain. Boxing, mixed martial arts and ju-jitsu are particular interests at this club.

The venue is the home for the Waltham Forest Amateur Boxing club and is also associated with the London Muay Thai Boxing Academy. E4 Health and Fitness offers many boxing and martial arts classes at all levels, whether you are just starting out or already experienced.

There are also group exercise classes for yoga and Zumba – the club is keen to cater for a wide range of interests. (Please note additional charges for these activities)

Basic gym, I go there, however, to do cardio on the bike. There are 2 bikes in a small studio and both of them were available. One bike, however, could not be adjusted (according to height). Friendly and helpful staff ,changing room and toilet clean. Shower however locked (maintenance?).

Nice and quiet free weights section. Spacious and can play own music. Bit of an old school gym- quite old equipment, but did the job perfectly for me. No water fountain, so remember to bring your own. No lockers, but can leave behind front desk. Overall- a bit pricey but still recommended.

Very good and will use it regularly

Basic cardio equipment. Good weights room lots of free weights and a nice little studio as well. Decent gym. Think its primary function is more a boxing/martial arts centre, but I'll definitely visit again.

Two parts to this gym. Free weights room and cardiovascular room. Free weights room was empty, had a large amount of machines however they were in dire need of replacing and or cleaning. Cardiovascular room faired better.
