ARE FITNESS FESTIVALS THE FUTURE?

FORGET WANDERING IN WELLIES, THIS YEAR’S BIGGEST FESTIVALS HAVE WORKOUTS AND WELLNESS TO GET THOSE ENDORPHINS RUSHING, BUT WITHOUT THE HANGOVER.

Fitness festivals are the latest way to try out new exercise classes, eat nourishing food and discover exciting ways to feel fit and amazing. Often accompanied by motivational talks, local food, culture, music, art and thousands of like-minded people, could fitness festivals be your ticket to feeling great?

With millennials preferring healthy lifestyle choices over drinking and partying (just check out Instagram for the number of fitness posts), fitness festivals embody the spirit of this upcoming generation. This trend seems set to continue, with people aged 18 – 35 looking for experiences rather than material goods. Fitness festivals are set to be a big thing in the future.

So if you are genuinely trying to embrace healthier living this year, but still want to be around hoards of happy, sweaty people, maybe you should hit one of these fitness festivals in 2017?

Be:Fit London (29 April – 1 May)

Launched in 2014, this festival is dedicated to women. A ticket gives you access to famous workout classes such as Equinox, Gymbox, and yoga sessions with Tara Stiles. Keen cooks will enjoy cooking sessions from leading chefs, and samples from healthfood brands.

Wanderlust Festivals

These multi-day celebrations of yoga, mindfulness and exploration aim to help you find ‘your true north’. Although none are in the UK yet, the 80,000 attendees last year indicate how its popularity is quickly spreading.

Soul Circus (The Cotswolds, 18-290 August)

Love yoga? Then make this the year when you improve your practice by trying out every type of yoga and celebrate your mind, body and spirit. From hot yoga tents to restorative yoga, arial yoga to sunrise classes, this wellness festival has top teachers and the best of local health food.

Balance Festival (London, 12-14 May)

Fancy learning Barry’s Bootcamp workout? Intrigued by Box HIIT? Balance Festival targets people who embrace healthy lifestyles and want to sample the latest fitness classes and technology. Workshops, cooking demos, meditation and a unique triathlon of HIIT, Run and Yoga are all waiting to be experienced.
