Guilt free chocolate pots

Guilt free chocolate pots

Trying to find a dessert recipe that is actually good for you is trickier than you might think. Most use sugar, chocolate, or sweet and tasty stuff that’s really bad for you. But here’s one that uses good things like avocados and bananas- and it seems to be sticking around.

There are versions in bestselling cookery books such as Hemsley & Hemsley, Deliciously Ella and I Quit Sugar For Life, but here’s our version which we think is a winner after much trying and testing!

What you’ll need:

4 ramekins

A stick blender

A large mixing bowl

2 bananas (very ripe)

1 avocado

4tbsp water

2 tbsp cacao (raw chocolate powder)

4 medjool dates

1 heaped tsp almond butter

Method

Throw all the ingredients into the mixing bowl and combine with the stick blender until your mixture looks light and is the consistency of mousse.

Divide into the four ramekins, smooth and refrigerate until they have set.

Enjoy, guilt free!

I have ditched sugar for lent and need a weekend treat. Looks like this is it. Although the sugar content with the bananas and dates is still quite high, but at least it's natural.

I never feel guilty about chocolate. (should I?) But these look good and rather impressive, so will be giving the recipe a go. In the interests of health, of course...
