Up the Feel Good factor with GoodGym

Up the Feel Good factor with GoodGym

Here at PayasUgym we are always on the lookout for innovative fitness ideas, so we were very excited when we came across GoodGym. With a simple, positive message “keeping fit while doing good”, we couldn’t wait to tell you lovely people all about this fantastic initiative that we wholeheartedly support.

Getting fit is one of the best gifts you can give to yourself. What if you could make it even better by giving to others at the same time?

Back in 2009, some good people thought of a way combining the two and GoodGym was born.

What is GoodGym?

GoodGym is a fast-growing community of runners, including some of the best running coaches in the UK, who combine their runs with good deeds such as manual labour for community organisations and visits to support isolated older people.

How does it work?

Register on the website and chose your local trainer. Your trainer will help you on your fitness journey and accompany you on group runs.

You can then choose whether to try a group run or run solo. It’s completely free – just turn up.

If you chose to join a group run, you will also take part in a group activity to help the community.

Run solo and help by visiting isolated older people on your run.

Either way you benefit from the support of your local trainer who will give you advice and guide you towards your fitness goals.

A bit about the company

GoodGym is recognised by Runners’ World, leading think tanks and the Government as an important innovation.

Now numbering at 1400 members, GoodGym is expanding rapidly from its roots in Tower Hamlets to other London boroughs and other cities such as Bristol and Bath. It aims to launch in a further 20 cities in the UK in 2016.

GoodGym’s administration team is a non-profit company and is registered with the charities commission.

We all know if feels great to get fit. How’s that for upping the feel good factor.
