The Best Gym for Your Fitness Plan

The Best Gym for Your Fitness Plan

We all want different things from our gyms. The heavy lifter might require an expansive collection of weights, while the runner might lean toward aerobic equipment. Once you know your fitness goals you can create a plan and choose a gym tailor made to satisfy your needs.

The Runner

If you’re trying to build up your stamina you’re going to need a treadmill. When utilising a gym pass, be on the watch for treadmills that fit your needs as a runner. Perhaps you’re preparing for a race - if so, you’ll want a treadmill that mimics the terrain you’ll be running on. Find a gym that offers treadmills that incline to a degree comparable to one you’ll see on the day of the race. And if you’re into stats there are treadmills out there that offer heart rate monitors, timers, and specific workout plans packed with data.

The Body Builder

If you’re looking to get ripped, be sure to find a gym that’s receptive to serious lifters. Not all gyms welcome heavy lifters or have appropriate equipment; you’re going to need a number of different weights, such as barbells, bumper plates, lifting blocks, squat stands, and bench presses. And if you really want to take it to the next level make sure to enquire as to whether the gym has trainers with weightlifting backgrounds so you’ll have the support you need, from someone in the know.

The Easy-going Type

You fall into this category if you like to stay fit but you don’t need to take your workouts too seriously. For you the most important thing to consider is the atmosphere of a gym. If the gym you’re looking at is filled with adrenaline-seeking Uni students or die-hard lifters, you may want to check out another place. Classes like Zumba or yoga that keep you fit while having fun might also be on your radar.

With gyms like the Pemberton Centre Rushden and Pace Health and Fitness out there, you’ll no doubt find a gym that’s right for you.

AS long as the gym has a treadmill and weights then I am happy. I am probably quite a boring gym-goer, just do the same stuff each week, so I have no reason to find any other gym.

For me, it is almost more about the right atmosphere than the right equipment. I am trying to keep fit but I could not be described as a really serious lifter. However I don't want to be somewhere that has machine-hoggers or endless chatterers, time is precious. Fortunately my nearest gym is well-managed and there is none of that.
