With a mix of martial arts and yoga, Kickstudio offers an unusual and approachable combination of classes. Their specialised workouts are based around a combination of Thai boxing (Muay Thai), kick boxing and ‘western’ boxing. Customers of this gym especially like the mix of martial arts with the principles of yoga. Using elements of both disciplines helps to improve both strength and flexibility.

Founded by a former world kickboxing champion and RAF fitness instructor, the group exercise classes here are as non-standard as the venue itself. The workouts range from Muay Thai training to a ‘4x4’ session. This includes weights, cardio work and stretching to provide a simulated experience of a championship boxing bout.

As well as the martial-arts based classes, the venue also offers two types of yoga. Staff are also able to provide personal training and nutritional advice – please check with the venue for additional charges.

Kickstudio is located in the heart of Hackney at the north-west corner of London Fields, not far from the famous lido. The gym is in spacious new premises cleverly converted from three railway arches. The venue is light and airy, with a comfortable ‘chill-out’ area, a cafe with library and even an outside courtyard. This welcoming atmosphere makes for a perfect place to help you to get fit.
